Department of ENT

 

This Department is involved in teaching the IIIrd year Part I MBBS Students (UG) in the subject of ENT. The UG students are trained in ENT OPD by faculties by taking clinical case presentations, demonstrating the various OPD clinical examination procedures and how to approach towards diagnosis. They are also given hands on training for minor OPD procedures such as FB’S removal from Ear, Nose & Throat, ear syringing, ear toilet by suction clearance, microscopic examination of ear and endoscopic examinations of Ear, Nose, Throat and Larynx. The help of various models and charts displayed in OPD is taken for thorough understanding of the subject during clinical posting. During clinical postings the students are taken to the operation theatre to demonstrate various surgical operations in ENT by faculties

Aim :

To improve the professional skills of the UG students and make them capable of performing basic ENT procedures during their future medical practice and promote them to go to various post graduate courses in ENT.

Facilities :

1. Lecture Hall : Well equipped lecture halls with LCD Projector facility for theory classes are available.
2. Audiology Room : We also have got well designed (as per MCI guidelines and rules) Audiometry and Speech Therapy room to conduct the audiometry and speech therapy sessions to the needy patients. For this we have      full time audiologist to render these services.
3. Demonstration room : The department has a adequately spacious demonstration room for conduction of tutorials and seminars.
4. Departmental library cum seminar room : There is well furnished seminar cum library. Library is updated with books of basic subject.
5. Museum : The departmental museum is well planned and stocked. Various specimens are on display with their descriptive.
