Courses Details

1) Introduction:

Our institution is not made only by departments and campus but is alive and breathing because of the students. The department of Pathology has seen students rising to a higher level of understanding about the health needs of our society. They have started becoming good human beings to becoming excellent doctors.

2) Programs offered-

The department of Pathology is a department for UG and PG teaching.
a) Undergraduate teaching is conducted for the students of II MBBS
b) Two Postgraduate students for MD Pathology are posted for diagnostic and teaching duties in different sections. Their progressive evaluation for 36 months is recorded in the log book of MUHS. Total 17 alumni of the department have successfully completed the MD Pathology program.

3) Facilities-

The department caters to the JMF’s hospitals (Medical and Dental) for diagnostic facilities as under-
i) Central Clinical Pathology Laboratory
ii) Hematology and Immunology
iii) Cytopathology
iv) Diagnostic and Surgical Histopathology
v) Anatomic Pathology
vi) Blood Banking Services

c) Post graduate prizes-

Dr. Smita Pawar MAPCON 2012 Ist prize for paper presentation- The Value of Histomorphologic evaluation in diagnosis of Inflammatory Dermatoses.
